A Kentucky River Fluorspar Mine Adventure!

In the Palisades of the Kentucky River on the Mercer county side of the river. An old mine slicing into a 3 foot wide vein of fluorspar and calcite. Rough going to climb and find. Last mined 100 years ago. Reached by canoe with John Graham on October 14, 2021.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Santa Clara University, and a Masters and PhD. in Biology from the University of Louisville. He practices law from offices in Shelbyville, Kentucky concentrating his legal practice in environmental law. His biologic research is in historical phytogeography.
