The Wann-Van Stockum “Suitcase Showcase!”

It’s a “Suitcase Showcase” of plays written by Dr. Jack Wann and Ronald R. Van Stockum, Jr. presented to a full house at the Estill County History and Geneological Society Museum on the Kentucky River in the town of Irvine. The two musicals are “Jubilee Barndance,” a country musical premiered at the Shelby County Community Theatre in 2022, and “Tower by the Thames,” a musical comedy premiered at the Little Colonel Players Theatre in 2025.  The three one-act dramas were developed by Dr. Wann from short stories written by Van Stockum in his world of magic realism. They are entitled “Hedge Apple,””Dawn of Dusk,” and “Side Step” and were first staged in Shelbyville, Kentucky in 2023.
