The Lyceum at Life and Landscapes®

I am pleased to be offering my first “Lyceum at Life and Landscapes® Learning Course”, on Saturday and Sunday, June 25th and 26th, 2022 at my farm in Shelby County, Kentucky. Lectures will held for two days, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at a cost of $200, with limited enrollment. This immersive learning experience, with hands on exhibits, will deal with Science, History, and Culture, and may include topics such as 1) The Evolution of the Human Species; 2) The Development of Writing and Tools; 3) Early Native American Cultures [such as Hopi and Navajo in the Southwest; Adena and Hopewell in the Ohio Valley]; 4) Pleistocene Mammals; 5) Extinctions; 6) History of World Pandemics; 7) The History of Food; and 8) Human Consciousness.

Ronald R. Van Stockum, Jr. is a lawyer, teacher, biologist, writer, guitarist, and recently an actor living on his family's old farm in Shelbyville, Kentucky. He has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Santa Clara University, and a Masters and PhD. in Biology from the University of Louisville. He also has his Juris Doctorate from the Brandeis School of Law. He practices law from offices in Shelbyville, Kentucky concentrating his legal practice in environmental law. His biologic research is in historical phytogeography. Dr. Van Stockum, Jr. has published numerous books, articles, and short stories in the areas of law, science, and creative writing.
