Kind Praise for Cosmos at the Kentucky State Fair

Reggie: I am here at the 2026 Kentucky State Fair and one of my book clients has come up to chat about how much he enjoyed Cosmos, the Stellar Stalker.  Tell me what you think about it.

Kory Smith: I thought Cosmos was really good because it was a unique type of storytelling.  Most stories will go like in specific points in time and will pinpoint that, and it will lay out the story pretty flat.  With your book, it was very interesting where you had to piece it together almost like a puzzle yourself.  You had to go through there and cross reference different parts of the book to actually put together the full story, cause it didn’t just tell you on top.  You actually had to think about it and put it together yourself, which I thought was a really cool reading experience for a lot of people that you don’t get a lot nowadays.  Like from authors, like you had King, who will sit there and connect his books, like Pet Sematary and The Shining, but something like this, you don’t get a lot of this type of books anymore so it’s really refreshing to see an author like that, especially a local author that’s ready to make really good books like that.

Reggie: Well, you’re very kind to say that, and even kinder still to purchase the book and give it a read.  Did you find the hero, the young fellow who was caught up in the collapse of two universes together, of interest?  Did you find it, were you compelled by what he did?

Well thank you!

Kory Smith: I thought it was interesting, yeah, because there’s also parts where you can like see a morally gray area where you can exactly make the choice, and it’s an interesting way that you wrote the character to make him so morally gray instead of being pinpointed on one exact point of view.  It’s always like what we thought was right instead of what was actually probably right for the universe.  And you don’t see that a lot wrote.  It’s very interesting to see it wrote like that.
